Joe Burton is an accomplished executive who has led public and private billion-dollar organizations in driving new product portfolios, go-to-market strategies, and innovative business models. Having spent the earlier parts of his career in information technology, Joe is passionate about fostering more transparency and trust in the digital world, while championing high performing cultures aligned to mission, vision and social responsibility.

A recognized global transformational change executive, Joe has held the CEO role at Telesign and Poly, as well as serving as the Chief Technology Officer of Unified Communications at Cisco. Having started his career as an engineer, Joe brings both product and development expertise as well as a wealth of knowledge on big data, analytics, machine learning, SaaS, networking, unified communications, consumer electronics, and IoT.

Residing in the San Francisco Bay Area, Joe completed the Stanford Executive Program and Directors’ Consortium at Stanford University Graduate School of Business and earned a bachelor’s in computer information systems from Excelsior University.

Scott Barmmer leads Reputation’s global sales organization. Scott joins us from DocuSign, where he spent seven years in a variety of sales leadership roles, most recently having led International Sales from a $50 million a year organization to over $200 million in a matter of three years. Before DocuSign, he held various sales leadership positions for Get Satisfaction, the customer community software platform for technical support, and Salesforce, where he was hired as the first outside hire in Commercial Sales leadership. Over the course of seven years at Salesforce, Scott helped build and execute what is now often referred to as the velocity sales model and sold what was the first ten-figure enterprise deal in company history. Scott started his career at Dun & Bradstreet Software, followed by roles at Oracle and Ariba.

Scott received his undergraduate degree in Finance from Boston College. He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife and children.

Liz oversees Reputation’s global marketing organization, which includes demand gen, product marketing and corporate marketing function. She is an experienced marketing leader who has built and managed high performing teams that deliver results across demand gen, communications, corporate events, field marketing and thought leadership. 

Previously, Liz built the field marketing and corporate events function at ServiceMax and managed various aspects of corporate marketing, communications and demand gen. Prior to joining ServiceMax in 2011, Liz was the Sr. Event Marketing Manager at SuccessFactors where she developed corporate event programs like SuccessConnect, SuccessFactors’ annual user conference and supported SuccessFactors’ goals of high growth and IPO through events. Liz holds a B.A. in English from Vanderbilt University.

As CFO, Marc oversees the company’s financial and administrative departments. With more than 30 years of finance, business strategy, and general management experience, Marc’s impressive career spans multiple CFO roles but also operating and advisory positions.

Prior to joining Reputation, Marc led finance and human resources at Intacct, where he managed its sale to British enterprise software company Sage Group, won CFO of the Year by the Silicon Valley Business Journal, and was named Executive of the Year in the Cloud Computing/SaaS category of the CEO World Awards.

Prior to Intacct, Marc spent four years as CFO for Mirapoint, Inc., a leader in secure appliance solutions for messaging. He also served as general manager of Openwave’s messaging business unit. Marc joined Openwave after his role as CFO of Onebox, where he was instrumental in the sale of Onebox to Phone.com for $850M. Marc holds an economics degree from the University of California at Berkeley, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Shantanu Sarkar is an accomplished executive who brings a wealth of experience as a technology leader with over thirty years of success in leading high-performing large product & engineering teams at Aptiv, Amazon, Poly (formerly Plantronics), and Cisco. With over 150 patents to his credit, he is an expert in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, SaaS, and Connected Devices. In addition to deep technical expertise, he has tremendous business experience focused on long-range product and business strategy, launching innovative products (such as Amazon Alexa), and creating new revenue streams, leading to hundreds of shipped products that have generated multi-billion dollar revenue.

Shantanu holds a master’s degree in Computer and Information Science from Ohio State University and a bachelor’s from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.

A founding member of Reputation’s international organization, Anthony leads Reputation’s European business. Joining the company in 2015, he has been instrumental in the high-growth of the business across the region and has spearheaded key partnerships and ongoing relationships with major European organisations, from Automotive to Hospitality, in over 25 countries including Hyundai, Inchcape, Kia, Mitchells & Butlers, British American Tobacco, and more.

Prior to Reputation, Anthony has over 15 years experience in leading business segments within some of the worlds largest financial services organisations, including Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. and Zurich.

Anthony holds a BA (Hons.) Degree in Music and Technology from the University of Liverpool, England.

A seasoned leader in the SaaS space, Pam Dodrill is Reputation’s Chief Customer Officer. She lives and breathes customer experience so Reputation can continue to help its customers around the world deliver great experiences. Pam oversees Reputation’s global support, managed services, professional services and customer success teams. With more than 25 years of experience focused on improving the customer journey, Pam has led high-performing teams from startup to public entities at organizations such as Zapier, ServiceMax, Zendesk and Salesforce. Pam and her husband reside in the greater Seattle area. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from York College of Pennsylvania.

Michael Fertik founded Reputation in 2006 with the belief that people and businesses have the right to control and protect their online reputation and privacy. A futurist with more than ten patents, Michael is credited with pioneering the field of online reputation management (ORM) and lauded as the world’s leading cyberthinker in digital privacy and reputation.

Michael was most recently named Entrepreneur of the Year by TechAmerica, an annual award given by the technology industry trade group to an individual they feel embodies the entrepreneurial spirit that made the U.S. technology sector a global leader.

He is a member of the World Economic Forum Agenda Council on the Future of the Internet, a recipient of the World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer 2011 Award and through his leadership, the Forum named Reputation.com a Global Growth Company in 2012. Fertik is an industry commentator with guest columns in Harvard Business Review, Reuters, Inc.com and Newsweek.

Named a LinkedIn Influencer, he regularly blogs on current events as well as developments in entrepreneurship and technology. Fertik frequently appears on national and international television and radio, including the BBC, Good Morning America, Today Show, Dr. Phil, CBS Early Show, CNN, Fox, Bloomberg, and MSNBC. He is the co-author of two books, Wild West 2.0 (2010), and New York Times best seller, The Reputation Economy (2015).

Fertik founded his first Internet company while at Harvard College. He received his JD from Harvard Law School. He now teaches at Harvard Law School.

David Cowan, a partner in Bessemer Venture Partner’s Silicon Valley office, launched the firm’s practices in cloud infrastructure, consumer tech, cyber-security and space tech. His historical portfolio includes Ciena, Blue Nile, Twilio, LinkedIn, LifeLock, Qualys and 16 other IPOs, as well as many large acquisitions such as Twitch, Postini, Cyota, iSight, Tripwire, Netli, Playdom, Nonimum, Dropcam and Skybox Imaging. His current portfolio – spanning startups founded in the U.S., Argentina, Singapore, Israel, New Zealand and Scotland – includes Rocket Lab, Spire, GetInsured, Smule, Endgame, Claroty, Tile, Iris Automation, Auth0 and Zapier.

During his tenure at BVP, David co-founded three cyber security companies: VeriSign (IPO), where David served as initial Chairman and CFO; Good Technology (fka Visto, acquired by Blackberry) where David served as CEO, and Defense.net (acquired by F5).

David earned an A.B. in math and computer science and an MBA degree, both from Harvard University. Forbes ranked him #6 on the Midas List and tied for 4th in the Midas List of Hall of Fame. He serves on several non-profit boards including Center For Inquiry. David is co-writer of the Silicon Valley mockumentary series Bubbleproof.

A thirty-year technology veteran, Joe Fuca is known in Silicon Valley for leading both private and public companies through worldwide growth phases, transformative customer success, and category leadership. He recently transitioned to serving as a Board Member, where he will work with the Reputation leadership team to scale the company after leading the company through a period of rapid growth.

Previously, Joe was the first executive brought into DocuSign to build out the infrastructure necessary to grow the company ten-fold to $250 million in four years. In addition, he designed DocuSign’s vertical strategy, priorities and positioning; expanded its presence globally; and forged strategic partnerships with Salesforce.com, major financial services organizations and top-tier consulting firms.

Howard Hartenbaum joined August Capital in 2008. Prior to joining, he served as a General Partner at Draper Richards LP where he was the founding investor in Skype and a former member of the board of directors where his achievement resulted in his joining the Forbes Midas List of top venture capitalists.

Before entering the venture capital field, Howard was at Hughes Electronics, where he was responsible for supporting business development, marketing and sales of satellite, information security and automotive technologies developed by HRL Laboratories. He also worked in engineering positions in ergonomics and user experience at Honda Motor Company and manufacturing at Teledyne Relays. Howard has worked overseas for a total of ten years in Luxembourg and Japan.

Howard received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from M.I.T.

John Kuelper joined Ascension Ventures in 2014 as a Kauffman Fellow. John is Founder and President of Qualia Holdings LLC, a platform for systems biology and therapeutic ventures. He has advised or worked for several investment firms (Adams Street Partners, Sterling Partners, Abundant Venture Partners), medical technology companies (Stereotaxis, Orpheden Therapeutics), and nonprofits (The Kresge Foundation, the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association).

John began his career as a medical researcher studying computational neuroscience and medical robotics and has over fifteen years of experience as a commercial software developer. John earned JD and MBA degrees from the Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law and Kellogg School of Management where he graduated with honors and was elected Beta Gamma Sigma (top 10% of class). He earned a BA in cognitive neuroscience from Washington University in St. Louis, graduating magna cum laude. In 2014 he was elected to the Kauffman Fellows Society. Ted Schlein is a general partner at Kleiner Perkins and a preeminent expert on cybersecurity and enterprise software. Ted was the founding CEO of Fortify Software and has led Kleiner Perkins’ involvement in a number of successful investments including Alien Vault, Arcsight, CarbonBlack, Internet Security Systems, Phantom Security, Mandiant and Oakley Networks. Ted serves on the board of directors of AppOrbit, Area 1 Security, Chegg, FullStory, Incorta, Inspirato, Ionic Security, IronNet Cybersecurity, JASK, Reputation, Shape Security, Synack, Trusona and UJet. Additionally, Ted oversees Kleiner Perkins’ investments in Ayasdi, Endgame Systems and Segment.

Before joining Kleiner Perkins, Ted served as vice president, Enterprise Solutions at Symantec. One of Symantec’s early employees, he played an instrumental role in the company’s growth and dominance as a global software leader. Ted led Symantec’s successful move into the software utilities market, as well as the launch of its commercial anti-virus solution, an offering that quickly emerged as the industry gold standard.

Ted is the former chairman of the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA), a national alliance advocating the role of venture investing in job creation, technology innovation, and economic development. He is also the former president of the Western Association of Venture Capitalists and the founder of DoD-sponsored DeVenCI program. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania and the Board of Overseers of the Engineering School at the University of Pennsylvania. Additionally, Ted serves on the Board of Trustees at InQTel. Ted frequently participates as an opinion leader in public, private and government forums, providing perspectives on security technology, related investments, and market adoption trends.
