According to the Associated Press, Britain’s infamous Facebook Fugitive, Craig “Lazie” Lynch, has been caught by law enforcement after nearly four months on the lam. Lynch, who essentially walked out of the minimum-security facility where he was serving his sentence for assault, had been mocking law enforcement over the last few months by posting pictures of himself on Facebook enjoying the fruits of freedom, including a Thanksgiving meal.
Only two weeks ago, I pondered whether Craig Lynch’s criminal notoriety might make him the “Digital John Dillinger.” Now that he has been apprehended, I wonder if his 15 minutes of fame are over. Is a book deal out of the question? In this crazy fame-obsessed world, nothing would surprise me.
