Reputation.com Blog is concerned with Online Reputation Management and Privacy Issues, but we are also aware of new trends that are changing the way media operates. Reputation.com Blog ran into an interesting discovery after the Vice Presidential Debates last night.
Traditionally, after political debates, media pundits will opine on behalf of the people and make generalizations based on what they think people are thinking.
The internet changed all that. Now, with the Instapoll, real time opinions are available to the media and public at large in near real time. After the debate between Sarah Palin and Joe Biden, CBS brought up an instapoll that showed how voters reacted to the candidates. CNN also had a poll on the Vice Presidential Debate.
But the real paradigm shift here is that the talking heads are no longer telling us what they think we think. Thanks to the power of the internet, the people are able to speak for themselves.
